I have enjoyed DragonRaid since it first appeared on the market in 1984.  Over the years, I have been a player, an Adventure Master, and even tried my hand at authoring some new material, as nothing new has appeared on the market in years.  But through it all, I am still only a "fan".  I do not own any part of DR, or profit from its sales.  As a fan, however, I want to get the game into the hands of as many people as possible.  So here's how to order it from the official DragonRaid site.  You may  read the details of what is included in the game set below, or go straight to the site to order by clicking here.

DRAGONRAID BOXED SET

The DragonRaid games comes in a special boxed set that includes 4 rule books, 3 adventure modules, work sheets, playing aids, dice, and even a cassette tape to introduce new players to the game and the first adventure.  All the material is professionally illustrated and printed.   More than 500 pages of material in all!

Included are:

New Player Briefing

Designed to introduce a new player to the world of EdenAgain and the LightRaider character they will be playing.  It also gives an overview of how to "role play" to make the game more exciting.  This 16 page booklet contains the information necessary to begin playing DragonRaid.  Although it permits you to get into the game quickly, you should still read the LightRaider Handbook throughly if you want to be a successful player.

Introductory Cassette Tape

Alone with the New Player Briefing comes a professional quality audio tape.  This introduction to DragonRaid helps new players - and Adventure Masters - to learn the basic rules.  It includes the Player Briefing for the first adventure, The LightRaider Test, in audio format.

DragonRaid Rule Book

A concise 24 page guide that covers the rules players need to know.  It shows you how to create a character, use the dice for success and ablilty checks, battle sin enchantments and dark creatures, use spiritual weapons like the armor of God and WordRunes.  DragonRaid combines high playability, a rich variety and a fully realized universe with a simple to use set of rules.

LightRaider Handbook

Everything you could ever want to know about DragonRaid, the world of EdenAgain, and the people and creatures who are found there.  It contains much of the knowledge your character would have acquired in his studies at the DragonRaid Academy.  All players (and the Adventure Master) need to read this book throughly.

Over 120  pages of information your LightRaider will need to survive his adventure.  Includes:
Details of the Great Rescue of EdenAgain
Information of the dragons and other dark creatures you will have to battle
          The Victims of EdenAgain
Essentials on the Fellowship of Light
The OverLord of Many Names, the Sacred Scrolls, Celestial Guardians,
Talking Animals, Good Creatures, and LightRaiders and TwiceBorn,
Character Strengths, Special, Defensive, and Weapon Abilities,
Armor of God, Eternal Battle and Great Rescue WordRunes,
Battle Prayer, Special WordRunes and Special Character Roles
The World of Talania, including geography and monetary systems
Listing of WordRunes and TeamRunes for the players to memorize.

Adventure Master Manual

The Adventure Master is a player who serves as narrator, arbitor, spiritual leader, discipler and judge for each game.  He leads the other players along on the adventure, playing the part of dragons, dark creatures, dragon slaves, and even other LightRaiders. The AM Manual contains everything needed to easily and successful direct the game. It includes charts, list, aids, rules and more needed to bring the adventure to life.  This comprehensive manual is for the Adventure Master only.  The rest of the players should not read it.  It is punched for insertion in a  three-ring binder so that subsequent material can be added.

Character Cut-outs

While most players will want to aquire small metal or plastic figures (found in most hobby stores) to represent their characters, it is not necessary.  The DragonRaid set includes cardboard markers for representing the LightRaiders, as well as a large selection of dark creatures and other characters.  A dozen LightRaiders are included for you to choose from on the first of the three sheets.  The second sheet includes 24 dark creatures and a dragon.  The third sheet includes animals, celestial guardians, and humans.

Battle Grids

You will need a place to set the figures, so you can track their movement during battles and other situations.  The DragonRaid set includes two large numbered battle grids for just this purpose.

Dice

DragonRaid uses two dice in the game.  One is a 10-sided die used by the LightRaiders called a StarLot.  If held correctly by the player, it is possible to see a "star" within the special die.  The other is an 8-sided die used by the dragons, dark creatures and others.  One StarLot and one Shadow Stone are included in the boxed set.

Worksheet Masters

Since much of DragonRaid is played "on paper", the DR boxed set includes masters for Character Sheets, Time and Travel, LightRaider Worksheets and various other Adventure Master helps.

Adventure #1 ("The LightRaider Test")

Designed for beginning players and Adventure Masters.  This adventure covers your first trip into the Dragon Lands on an assignment to rescue a captured LightRaider before he is eaten.  While playing this adventure, you will learn the fundamentals of role playing and being an Adventure Master.  Only the Adventure Master should read this Guidebook. 43 page guidebook plus extras.

Adventure #2 ("Rescue of the Sacred Scrolls")

You return to the Dragon Land this time to try to find a copy of the Sacred Scrolls, which tell the story of how the OverLord performed a Great Rescue on another planet, called Earth.  The players also get their first chance to battle a dragon in the climax of the adventure.  Written in the same easy style as the LightRaider Test, this guidebook not only contains the adventure, but continues to teach the fundamentals of role playing and Adventure Mastering.  The guidebook contains everything necessary for the adventure including cue cards and several copies of the player briefing.  73 page guidebook plus extras.

Adventure #3 ("MoonBridge Raid Trilogy", Part 1)

Begins a three part adventure in which the LightRaiders must find and destroy a "Money Love" potion that is enchanting many in the Dragon Lands.  This adventure introduces a new "hex" format which allows for greater choices by the player and more role playing for all.  Part 1 takes the players from  Fantasia Shieling as far as Troll Island.  The other two parts of the MoonBridge Raid can also be purchased from the same site as the boxed set.  56 page guidebook plus extras.

At the time of this posting, the price for the boxed set is only $24.00.  Check the official site for any changes in price, please. The price is a bargain when you consider the game originally sold for $29.95 in stores back in 1984, and rose to $39.00.
